NANP Wire Center File

This database includes the content of the TeleBase-TEx™ Toll Point File, plus the wire center data for the point as described in the NECA FCC #4 tariff. Wire center data provides the most granular telephone network coordinates, as wire centers represent the lowest level in the public network switching hierarchy. These coordinates are useful in determining the closest sales or service location to a customer. By entering a customer's phone number, the mileage can be calculated from the customer's phone to a target location - an ATM, a retail store or a rental car drop-off location, as examples - and the closest of these can be reported back to the customer. Wire Center data is also instrumental in application involving specific routing connections in the network, such as rating special access or switched access services, or in learning what technical capabilities are resident in a specific serving office.
